Summry or Plume?
Plume turns a scanned course into a study sheet, quizzes and spaced-repetition flashcards, with a coach that guides instead of answering. It is a French iOS app, free with ads. Summry, our tool, takes PDF, photos of notes, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, audio and YouTube, and outputs study sheets, flashcards and quizzes in about twenty seconds, with Anki export and PDF printing. One accompanies the session on the phone, the other produces the material and lets you take it out of the app.
4.3/5 on Trustpilot2,000+ students
Two tools, two approaches.
Plume starts from the phone. You scan, describe a topic, import a PDF: the app writes a study sheet, a quiz, corrected exercises and flashcards. Everything stays inside. NextPixel aims it at secondary school, from class tests to the bac — university and medicine only appear in the list of subjects.
Summry starts from the document. You upload a handout, a photo of your notes, a PowerPoint, lecture audio; you fix things, export CSV to Anki or print to PDF. It is a workshop, not a companion. Summry is our tool: we will also say what Plume does better, and what its site does not document.
Summry is our tool. We compare it with its limits, and we also say what Plume does better.
What Plume does well.
What really works in Plume, and when it helps.
A coach that explains instead of answering
Socratic, available 24/7: it asks questions until you find the answer, instead of delivering it. That is the use case that best justifies the app.
The photographed exercise, solved step by step
You frame the question: steps, formulas, calculations, then similar exercises. Useful when the block is in the calculation, not in the course.
A complete loop
Study sheet, quiz, exercises, flashcards, tracking. Nothing to export, nothing to paste back. Comfortable for revising in short sessions.
Spaced repetition, built in
Each study sheet gives a deck of flashcards, with a spacing algorithm. At Summry, our sources do not document native spaced repetition: CSV export to Anki lets Anki handle the pace. If you do not want to manage two tools, that is an argument for Plume.
Scanning and audio mode
A photo of a paper page is enough, without a PDF. The study sheet can be listened to as a podcast, handy on public transport. The interface is polished, the tone kind.
French, hosted in Europe
French publisher, French interface, data in Europe. The privacy policy states that content sent to the AI may pass through third parties, including OpenAI.
What Summry adds.
The differences that matter when the study load grows.
Eight formats at the input
Plume takes scans, PDF, text and audio. Summry adds Word, PowerPoint, Excel and YouTube. Over a semester of slide decks and lectures, that changes how many documents you have to process again.
A documented output
Anki-compatible CSV and PDF printing. At Plume, no mention of export or printing on the site, in the terms or on the App Store: not verified, not “no”.
Mind maps
An overview of the chapter, next to study sheets. Plume generates flashcards; no mind map is mentioned in its documentation.
A PWA, so iPhone, Android and desktop
No store. Plume is an iOS app: as of October 28, 2026, only an App Store listing exists, no web version.
Prices displayed on the site
Summry publishes its prices and gives 50 credits a month. Plume has no pricing page: prices live in App Store in-app purchases, and the free plan is funded by ads. We do not know which tier a given student sees.
A chat over documents, not only over study sheets
Plume’s coach relies on the study sheets it generated. Summry’s answers only from the uploaded documents. The nuance matters on a handout that has not been turned into study sheets yet.
The study load, in medicine and beyond
In the PASS, the LAS or medicine, the load is not the number of pages. A sixty-page course lands on Tuesday, the seminar is on Thursday. You have to produce, fix, review. Plume’s scanning handles formatting; its spaced cards, the pace.
What remains is the volume and the container. Plume is presented as an app for secondary school; medicine only appears in a list of subjects. Nothing documents an export to Anki, and the app exists, to our knowledge, only on iPhone. For anyone revising on a computer, that is one more silo.
What it changes over a semester: PDFs, slide decks and photos of notes arrive faster than you can format them. Generate in Summry from the document, check, output CSV to Anki or PDF, keep one mind map per chapter. Formatting happens once; revision comes back every day. Plume keeps one use: step-by-step explanation when a mechanism resists. [Summry’s PASS method](/pour/pass-medecine) details that flow.

When to choose which?
Two different uses. See which one looks like yours.
Choose Plume
You are in secondary school, on iPhone, and you want a single app that scans, explains and makes you revise. The coach and the built-in cards are worth it if you do not want to manage Anki. If you are already on Android or desktop, check first: nothing documents a version on that side.
Choose Summry
You are at university, in the PASS, the LAS, law or preparatory classes. You receive PDFs, slide decks, photos of notes, sometimes lectures. You want to fix, export, print, and a chat over your documents. You also study on a computer or Android.
Pricing.
Prices listed on the official sites, with no sponsored offer.
Summry
- Free (50 credits/month, the number of courses depends on their size)
- Essentiel €7/month, or €5.83/month billed yearly (€70/year)
- Major €15/month, or €10/month billed yearly (€120/year)
Plume
- Free with ads (first study sheet, coach trial, one exercise according to the FAQ)
- Pro by subscription inside the iOS app: month from €0.99 to €5.99, six months at €6.99, year from €6.99 to €29.99
- no single public price
Summry: 50 credits a month on the free plan, and the number of courses depends on their size — on a heavy handout, 50 credits are not 50 courses. Essentiel €7/month, or €5.83/month billed yearly (€70/year). Major €15/month, or €10/month billed yearly (€120/year).
Plume: free, funded by ads (AdMob: a rewarded video may precede a generation). The FAQ advertises the first study sheet, a coach trial and one exercise; the rest goes through the Pro subscription. No pricing page as of October 28, 2026. The App Store in-app purchases list ten products, from €0.49 for a week to €29.99 for a year: month at €0.99, €4.99 and €5.99, six months at €6.99, year at €6.99, €9.99, €14.99, €19.99 and €29.99. We do not know which one is displayed.
Over a year, Plume’s range goes from €6.99 to €29.99, against €70 for Summry’s Essentiel: Plume stays cheaper whatever tier is displayed. It is not the same expense nor the same scope: Summry sells credits and outputs (Anki, PDF), Plume unlimited access to its iOS app. Retaining €29.99 as the usual price would be biased, and so would €6.99: the list does not say what a student pays.

Frequently asked questions.
Answers to the most common questions about Plume and Summry.
Is Plume free?
Yes, with ads. The FAQ advertises the first study sheet, a coach trial and one exercise; the rest goes through the Pro subscription, bought inside the app, where the price is displayed.
Does Plume work on Android or on a computer?
Nothing indicates it. As of October 28, 2026, only an App Store listing exists: no Google Play listing, no web version, and the site only links to the iPhone. That is an absence of trace, not a statement from the publisher. Summry is a PWA: iPhone, Android and desktop, without a store.
Can you export Plume study sheets to Anki?
Nothing documents it: neither the site, nor the terms, nor the App Store listing mentions Anki or a deck export. Not verified, so not “no”. Summry exports Anki-compatible CSV.
Is Plume suitable for the PASS or the LAS?
Its publisher aims it at secondary school. Medicine appears in a list of subjects, with no dedicated path. Over a medical semester, it is a formatting accelerator, not a complete system: no documented export, no desktop version.
How much does Summry cost?
Free with 50 credits a month; the number of courses depends on their size. Essentiel €7/month, or €5.83/month billed yearly (€70/year). Major €15/month, or €10/month billed yearly (€120/year).
